Even in the midst of busyness, you look after this bond alongside everything else. Even if it is hard to see each other often, you keep up the rhythm of contact, and if you are two who understand each other’s circumstances, you get through without trouble. Steady greetings, even if not long, become a pillar of support.
Two of Pentacles: Card Meaning
Reading It Upright and Reversed
Two of Pentacles · Minor Arcana · Pentacles · Two
The Two of Pentacles is the card of an acrobat passing two gold coins tied with a green cord back and forth; upright, it speaks of a flexible time of running two things together in rhythm without putting either one down.
A figure in a tall-crowned hat, one foot lightly raised, holds a gold coin in each hand. The green band wrapping the two coins curves like a figure eight on its side, the symbol meaning infinity. Far off, two sailboats ride over the heaving swells.
The waves show no sign of settling, but the acrobat does not fall. He does not grip both coins at once, but catches one the instant he releases the other. So the balance this picture shows is not gained by standing still but kept only by moving the feet without rest.
If the Two of Pentacles appears, must I choose one side?
It does not mean throw one side away right now. The figure in the picture has both gold coins; he just catches them in turn rather than gripping both at once. It is closer to meaning take both but divide your time. But if such a life goes on for many months and your health begins to suffer, then reducing the number is the right answer.
Two of Pentacles: Love
One side keeps getting pushed back in line. Work piles up so meetings are postponed again and again, and the other person feels hurt that they have become an afterthought. When you postpone plans, give the reason and the next date to meet together, and even if the same thing happens, misunderstandings will not build.
Two of Pentacles: Money
A time to set incoming and outgoing money side by side and level them. Adjustments work well, like having two sources of income or cutting spending on one side to cover the other, and even if the amounts are small, the flow does not break. The knack is to look not only at this month but to bundle in next month too.
Management of filling that hole with this money begins. If you pull next month’s share forward to get through this month, your breathing room narrows more and more. Lay out all your spending and pause just the single largest item for a month. That is the quickest remedy.
Two of Pentacles: Work
You come to handle several tasks at once. Your scope splits into two branches or other work gets added beside your main job, but for those who plan schedules well, it becomes a stepping stone instead. In a week of piled-up deadlines, setting one thing to postpone each day keeps you from wavering.
You have already exceeded the amount you can handle. Accepting every request that comes in, you meet no deadlines and mistakes increase. What is needed now is not a trick for going faster, but one short message telling people in advance which work you are postponing to when.

Two of Pentacles Upright
The upright Two of Pentacles tells of a time when you must run two strands of work at once. Company and home, main job and side job, childcare and personal appointments: you cannot pick just one, but your present stamina is enough to handle it. Staggering the timing rather than splitting everything exactly in half makes it much easier.
A sense for turning your body to fit when the flow changes is also this card’s strength. Even if the schedule goes awry, you quickly set a new order and can move ahead accepting changed conditions as they are. Even if income fluctuates month to month, balancing it by quarter gets you through without major trouble.
Two of Pentacles Reversed
Coming out reversed, it is a state where the hands cannot keep up. What were two tasks swell to three, four, so you cannot hold any one firmly, and while you tend this side, trouble breaks out on that side. Your skill has not dropped; the number of things you took on has grown.
The household’s centre of gravity tilts too. Deposit and withdrawal dates cross, creating a few days when the balance hits zero, and a week held up by credit card makes next month’s statement heavy. Right now, choosing what to set down first is more urgent than what to add.
Something to Try the Day This Card Appears
Today, write down on paper every task you are holding these days. Circle only those that absolutely must be finished this week, and push the rest back by changing their dates. Simply reducing the number lets the remaining tasks each find their place.
