The Dragon in 2027
The Flow of the Jeong-mi Year

The Dragon’s Jin (辰) and the Jeong-mi year’s Mi (未) are both earth, so in 2027 the Dragon’s energy piles up thickly. With no partner to collide with through clash or punishment, it is calm, but you must decide for yourself where to use the added weight.

The Dragon’s Jin (辰) is moist earth holding spring rain, and 2027’s Mi (未) is earth dried crisp in the summer sun. The textures differ, but in the Five Elements both are earth, so they become Bihwa (比和), adding strength to each other. Simply put, it is a year when the ground you stand on widens a hand’s breadth at a time.

Between the two characters there is no link such as harmony, clash, punishment or harm. Both pushing and pulling hands are weak, so the Dragon’s year builds up calmly without big events. Even if nothing seems to change on the surface, it is not a standstill; cornerstones are being laid beneath the ground.

2027 is said to be uneventful. Can the Dragon just spend it quietly?

It is too good a year to spend that way. Few outside shocks means it is a good time to build up steadily in the direction you want. Start long study this year, such as certifications, skills or languages, and when the board changes later, that preparation becomes the Dragon’s place.

Calm outside, hardening inside

In a Bihwa year of overlapping earth, scale grows instead of events. This year the Dragon experiences the scope of its existing work quietly widening rather than newly taking on unfamiliar tasks. People and tasks to look after increase, so keeping notes or a work log carefully from the start of the year helps a great deal.

The heat of Jeong (丁) bakes earth hard like brick. So rules and habits the Dragon sets this year do not change easily. So that a hastily made stopgap does not harden as it is, set up a proper structure from the start, even if it is a bother.

Money left to mature rather than turned over

In a year when the ground thickens, money too grows when held long. This year the Dragon does better putting money steadily into one chosen place than buying and selling repeatedly. It matches well with tangible assets like land or equipment.

But as earth piles up, it grows heavier just as much. New rent, instalments and subscription fees taken on this year follow you into next year as they are. Before increasing monthly outgoings, be sure to calculate whether you could hold out even if income were cut in half.

A year of reaching out first

With no entangled relationships, headaches over people are rare. But this quiet also means nothing happens if you only wait. When you see someone you want to get close to, it is much quicker for the Dragon to suggest a meal first.

Roles change with those already beside you. People you leaned on now rely on you, and you shift from asking to answering. Requests coming to the Dragon this year are a weight and also a sign of trust. Take only as much as you can handle, and if you see what you took through to the end, trust comes back doubled.

So that weight does not become laziness

The trap of a thick-ground year is body and mind growing sluggish. This year the Dragon may face itself repeatedly putting off decisions. Instead of a big resolution, set one small deadline to finish every Friday, and it fits this year’s rhythm exactly.

The stomach and body weight, linked to earth, react first. Sitting long with irregular mealtimes shows quickly. For the Dragon this year, a habit of walking 20 minutes at a set time every day lasts far longer and works better than signing up at a gym.
