The Sun shows a scene where nothing is hidden under a perfectly clear sky. Upright, it means a brightness with nothing to conceal, results you can hold in your hands, and a smooth flow that needs no dressing up.
In card 19 of the Rider-Waite deck, a great sun with a face fills the centre of the sky. Below it, four sunflowers lift their faces above a wall, and a naked child holding a red banner high rides a white horse.
The child being naked means there is nothing to hide, and the horse beyond the wall is a sign of having stepped out from a sheltered place into the wider world. With the sun looking straight ahead, there is no room for shadows. That is why this card reads brightness and being revealed as one.

It is clearly a bright energy, but it is not luck that rolls in by itself while you sit idle.
